The course is designed to refine students' ability to understand and communicate in French across a wide range of contexts, both formal and informal. Here are the main skills students will acquire:

Expansive Vocabulary: Building upon their A2 level vocabulary, students will acquire a broader range of advanced vocabulary, including idiomatic expressions, colloquialisms, and specialized terminology in areas such as business, politics, culture, and the arts. They will develop the linguistic resources necessary for nuanced and articulate expression in French.

Advanced Grammar Proficiency: The course will focus on refining students' understanding and usage of advanced grammar structures, including complex verb forms, the subjunctive mood, advanced conditional sentences, reported speech, and more intricate sentence constructions. Students will develop a high level of grammatical accuracy and sophistication in their written and spoken French.

Enhanced Listening Comprehension: Through exposure to authentic audio materials, students will hone their ability to understand French spoken at a native or near-native pace, with various accents and dialects. They will practice listening for detail, inference, and overall understanding in diverse contexts, including lectures, interviews, and radio broadcasts.

By the end of the B2 French course, students will have achieved a high level of proficiency in the language, capable of engaging fluently and confidently in both spoken and written French across a wide range of topics and situations. They will be well-prepared to pursue further studies, professional opportunities, or cultural experiences in French-speaking environments.

Fluent Oral Expression: Speaking practice will be emphasized to further develop students' fluency, spontaneity, and coherence in spoken French. Activities will include debates, presentations, simulations, and discussions on complex topics, allowing students to express themselves articulately and engage in meaningful conversations with native speakers.

Advanced Reading Skills: Students will engage with authentic written texts of increasing complexity, such as literary works, opinion pieces, academic articles, and journalistic reports. They will develop critical reading skills, including analyzing arguments, evaluating evidence, and synthesizing information, while deepening their understanding of French culture and society.

Sophisticated Writing Abilities: Writing tasks will focus on producing well-structured and coherent texts, including essays, reports, reviews, and formal correspondence. Students will refine their writing style, demonstrating precision, clarity, and creativity in their use of language, as well as the ability to tailor their writing to different audiences and purposes.

Cultural Insight and Sensitivity: Students will continue to explore the cultural richness of French-speaking regions, gaining deeper insights into cultural practices, social norms, and historical contexts. They will develop intercultural competence, allowing them to navigate cultural differences sensitively and communicate effectively in diverse cultural settings.
